Beautiful pair of Roman male and female warrior busts by French sculptor Leon. Pilet (1840-1916). Mounted on bases of gilded iron, these pieces are finely modeled in both facial features and attire. It is believed that the figures themselves are patinateded copper. Signed in the base (see detail shot).
