Antique Caucasian tapestry weave and embroidery on wood picture frame. Approx 100 years old, or more. Measures 6inches accross at widest point and a little under 7inches high. Unusual 8-sided shape. Ground is mustard golden colour. A symbolic flower in blue forms a central medallion. Some salmon / orange designs that are repeated in a technique that leaves the canvas base bare. A key pattern around this repeats this technique bordered by brown woven threads and dark green embroidery. Basic geometric symbolic designs. Incredible rich patina to wooden frame around the textile portion. Backed by old paper and still has original glass front. Condition: excellent - no tears/rips/missing bits.
