Hand-painted porcelain plaque forms the back of this little French hand mirror. The plaque is mounted in ormulu with dark pink enamel work around the edges. The subject is a woman playing a lute in a garden setting with a chateau tower behind her. Scrolled and beaded edges. Bevelled mirror. Item measures 16.75 cm long and 5.75 cm wide. It has some age-related minor scratches to the mirror glass, but is in excellent condition overall. Probably dates 19th century or early 20th.
