This is a fabulous set of antique hand-forged iron andirons, dating from the mid 1800’s. These superbly crafted andirons are hand-forged and hand-riveted, and have swinging brackets. Each andiron begins with three curled feet, riveted to the body and curling back out to accent the base of the andiron. Each body twists upward to meet its splendid swinging bracket, supported by a graceful volute and ending in a hook. Above the bracket, the body ends in a magnificent volute. These andirons are in very good antique condition and have a great patina. One andiron is missing a small vertical piece on the log support (see pictures), but it is hardly noticeable and does not detract from the beauty of the piece. They measure 32” tall and 12” wide (21 5/8” wide with the brackets extended toward the center), and the log supports extend 24”.
