Magnificent antique marble fireplace, dating from the 1870's. The mantel features a delicately curved top, below which is a dramatic cartouche with scrolls and a stylized anthemion. On either side of the cartouche are beautiful carved details, featuring scrollwork and bellflowers. The mantel's legs feature a simple beveled edge and come down to a column-like base. The firebox opening is an elegant arch. This marble mantel measures 61" wide, 45" tall, and 13" deep, and has a firebox opening of approximately 38-3/4" wide (at the widest point) and 33-5/8" tall (at the tallest point).
