This is a fabulous antique cast iron fireplace cover, dating from the late 19th Century. The summer cover is ornamented with a palmette surrounded by a wreath. Above the palmette is a floral garland; below is a pair of crossed olive branches, symbolizing peace. This summer cover is in very good antique condition with an aged finish. It measures 26 1/8†tall and 23 7/8†wide.
