Wonderful antique Federal poplar mantel, dating between the late 1700's and early 1800's. This mantel was salvaged from a Franklin, TN home and features incredible ribbed details throughout. The mantel's top edge is beveled, and below the projecting shelf is a unique rectangle and dart patterned border. Underneath is a central raised panel with narrow ribbing, flanked on opposite ends of the mantel by smaller ribbed panels . The mantel's legs are ribbed in the same pattern, giving each the appearance of a square doric column. The mantel is in very good condition. It measures 76" wide, 56-1/4" tall and 8-1/4" deep, and has a firebox opening of approximately 46-1/4" wide and 37-1/4" tall. Two coordinating mantels from the same home are also available for purchase; NFPM18-RW and NFPM19-RW.
