Marvelous antique walnut mantel, found in Philadelphia and dating from approximately 1860. The fireplace mantel features a beveled top edge; below the projecting shelf are decorative rosettes and a garland and bow center panel. Below is a band of bead and reel trim. On both sides of the fireplace acanthus leaf brackets curve down to meet baluster-shaped legs. The mantel legs feature gadrooning and beveled details. This mantel is in very good antique condition, with some chips and wear to the paint as pictured. The mantel measures approx. 60-5/8†wide, 47-1/4†tall, and 12†deep; the firebox opening is approx. 41-1/2†wide and 35-1/2†tall.
