American WEATHERVANE cast iron with sheet metal tail. This 1870's vane is in fine as found condition in 1973. This is an incredible well documented weathervane shown in all the Americana and Folk Art books by Bishop, etc. The Weathervane was manufactured by Gilmanton Rochester Iron Works.
