Very early Sheffield plated night candlestick. Dates to late 18th or early 19th century. Made in England. 2 1/4inches high. 6 1/4inches accross. Very pretty ornate shaped border. Repousse shells and leaves Sides with scrolling fluted and curved badges. Center with pierced base fence around candle holder. Hand / thumb piece curved and oval. Like all genuine old Sheffield silver, there is a large amount of bleeding, where the copper shows through the silver. Very gentle and beautiful old patina.
