This is a lovely patinated bronze clad pair of figural nymph candleholders. They are figures created by Russian artist Olga Popova who is listed in Fieldings and are stamped MP on the front tips. They are made for Muller and copyrighted in 1923 stamped on both pieces. The figures are draped from the waist down and have bare chests and feet. The candleholders are balanced on the heads and held in place with upturned arms. They were purchased from an upstate New York estate about twenty years ago. A single of these candleholder sold in Jamestown Rhoad Island in 1989 for $1,000. The condition is aged appropriate.
