Magnificent pair of 19th century gilt bronze 7 light candelabras signed Math. Moreau and dated 1858. The candelabras depict 2 beautiful gilt bronze maidens holding up the candelabra tops. The front of the candelabras have a high relief raised medallion with a beautiful lady's face. The candelabras have mythological heads adorning the upper portion near the top candle holder. They have all of their original bobochettes and are in excellent condition. Rarely if ever do you find a pair of figural candelabras that are signed and dated. This is a unique pair signed by an important 19th century sculptor Mathurin Moreau (FRENCH 1822-1912). They measure 25-1/2 inches high, 10 inches wide at widest point and 7-1/2 inches deep at the base.
