Beautiful antique French gilt and silvered bronze sculpture signed Anfrie, an important French 19th and early 20th century sculptor considered one of the finest 19th century French sculptors. The image depicts a beautiful nude lady wearing only her silvered head piece and silvered arm bracelets. She stands on a low table. By the sides of the table are her silvered high button shoes. The back of the table has her gilt and silvered plumed hat. The quality of this sculpture is phenomenal. She actually looks alive. It is a very unusual sculpture because she appears to be thumbing her nose. She has a beautiful face, beautiful body, and is anatomically a perfect sculpture. She measures 14 inches from the bottom of the table to the top of her head piece. From the bottom of her feet to the top of her head piece measures 11-1/2 inches. The base is 4-3/4 inches deep by 4-3/4 inches wide. It is inscribed on the bottom of the base beneath one of the shoes ANFRIE. Weight 6 lbs. This is an extremely rare sculpture, the only one I have seen in my more than 45 years buying, selling, appraising, and collecting antique bronze sculptures. The pictures tell it all. Have a look and enjoy a beautiful and possibly unique bronze sculpture. Excellent condition guaranteed to please as are all our items. (Item #72752)
