Exquisite antique gilt bronze nude lady signed Alonzo (Dominique Alonzo) one of the most important 19th and early 20th century European sculptors. The bronze depicts an exquisite gilt bronze nude lady walking with her right hand behind her head and her left hand slightly to her back. She has a beautiful sweet, expressive face. Her pose is magnificent. It is inscribed Alonzo on the base near her left foot. This is really an extraordinary sculpture it is so perfectly sculptured she looks alive you can almost hear her breathing. Height 12-1/8 inches. Height not including its original octagonal carved hard stone base 10-3/4 inches. The base has a diameter of 4 inches. Weight 6.25 lbs.
