Wonderful rare antique Vienna bronze sculpture depicting 2 boxers that look intent on knocking each other out. This is a wonderful composition in excellent condition mounted on its original black and gold marble base. Including the base the sculpture measures 10-1/2 inches high. Not including the base the bronze measures 7-3/4 inches high. The base measures 8-1/4 inches wide and 5-3/4 inches deep. Weight 12-1/2 lbs. This is a very animated sculpture. It looks like someone took a photograph of the 2 boxers they're so life like. Their postures, muscular bodies, and movement make this one of the best action bronzes you may ever hope to see. The condition is so good it looks like it just came out of 100 year old time capsule. Inscribed on the underside of 1 of the boxer's shoes reads Made In Austria.
