Beautiful antique Vienna bronze depicting a nude lady, rolling a hoop, standing on a rock work base. The sculpture is signed Ruff, a well listed Vienna bronze artist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Andor Ruff born in Taksony, Hungary January 2nd 1885, studied in Budapest and Brussels and worked as a decorative sculptor in Baden. Later he joined the Vienna Bronze School of Artists and sculptured many beautiful Vienna bronze sculptures. This one being no exception to this artist's high quality of work. The bronze measures 6-1/2 inches high, widest width from hoop to hand measures 4-1/4 inches. The rouge marble base measures 1/2 inch high, 2-1/2 inches deep, and 2-1/4 inches wide. Weight 1 lb. This is a lovely bronze with a very nice chocolate brown patina in excellent condition with the exception of some minor rubbing to the patina on the lady's behind.
