Exquisite antique Vienna bronze, very large in size, depicting a man blowing 2 horns wearing a lion skin robe and looking up at a beautiful nude female term with grapes in her hair. On the sides of the term are clusters of grapes. The bronze is inscribed Joh. Benk. It also bears this foundry seal: WEINER GESEUSCHAFT VON FREUNDEN DER KLEINPLASTIK #7. The sculpture has a beautiful chocolate to medium brown patina. It is artist inscribed at the base of the term and the foundry seal is marked on the side near the term. Term figures are usually seen as a man with the face of a satyr. This term is a beautiful female nude torso wearing grapes in her hair. She is extremely well sculptured and looks alive as does the gentleman blowing the horns. Height: 18 inches. The base measures 2 inches. The sculpture measures 16 inches. The original dark green marble base is 6-1/8 inches deep by 6-1/2 inches wide. Weight 16 lbs. This is a beautiful bronze in superb condition, lacking in almost all Vienna bronze collections.
