Beautiful antique bronze sculpture depicting a nude lady fishing. This bronze was sculptured by Professor Victor Heinrich Seifert 1870-1953. Professor Seifert is considered one of the most important German sculptors of the 19th and early 20th centuries. This is a beautiful example of his bronzes. She is mounted on a conforming variegated brown and sand colored polished onyx base. She is bending forward picking up a fish that she just caught. The bronze is in excellent condition showing moderate rubbing to the patina commensurate with age and handling. She has a beautiful face and seems serious about catching her fish. This is a wonderful sculpture by an important German sculptor and art professor. She is guaranteed to please the most particular collector or connoisseur. She measures 12-1/2 inches high to the top of her fishing rod. Not including the polished onyx base she measure 11-3/4 inches high to the top of her fishing rod. The base measures 4 inches wide and 4-1/4 inches deep. Weight 5.5 lbs. This is a wonderful bronze for any collector also a great bronze for anyone interested in fishing.
