Beautiful antique bronze sculpture depicting a seated nude lady with an amphora bottle giving birds a drink. The bronze is inscribed Math. Moreau (Mathurin Moreau 1822-1912). The bronze is also inscribed MEDAILLE D'HONNEUR. The bronze sits on its original variegated marble base that conforms to the bronze base of the sculpture. The marble base has a gilt bronze under plate. This is one of Moreau's best sculptures winning a Medal of Honor. The bronze measures 26 inches high to the top of her head. Widest width at base 11 inches. Depth 9-1/2 inches. Widest width of the sculpture from the bird's wing to the lady's leg is 11 inches. Weight 67 lbs.
