Exquisite complicated and very well detailed 3 figure antique bronze sculpture depicting a seated smiling satyr, a beautiful nude lady playing castanets. The satyr is pushing back a baby Bacchus trying to get his attention. This is a wonderful composition and a very interesting and rare depiction of a happy satyr a baby Bacchus, and a beautiful nude nymph playing castanets entertaining the satyr. Jeff Lambeaux was a Belgian sculptor (1852-1908) who worked in the late 1800s and early 1900s. This may be a unique composition we have never seen another like it. It is inscribed J. Lambeaux. Height 21-3/8 inches. From the dancing nymphs hand to the tip of her toe she measures 22 inches. Widest width at base 14 inches. Weight 54 lbs. It is in excellent condition with a beautiful rich chocolate brown patina. Guaranteed to please as are all our items.
