Exquisite large and beautiful French 19th century sculpture by Jean Alexandre Joseph Falguiere 1831-1900. Falquiere created magnificent bronze sculptures in the 19th century and is considered one of the finest French sculptors of his day. His most wanted and sought after scuptures are those he did of Diana the huntress. We have his three best and most beautiful versions of Diana offered from my own collection. The model we are offering for sale is an exquisite example of his work. It depicts a beautiful nude Diana with the crescent moon in her hair holding the bow in her left hand. This is a large beautiful and impressive sculpture in excellent condition. Inscribed on the base is A. Falguiere. From hand to hand she measures 18-1/2 inches.
