Rare and very beautiful antique bronze pedestal bust of a lady warrior. Her face and hair are beautifully carved. The rest of the composition is gilt bronze. She is wearing a Pegasus flying horse bronze helmet. She is also wearing armor. E. Bernoud is a well listed French sculptor who is known for the best quality, mixed composition, carvings and bronze sculptures. We have bought and sold many pieces over the years by this artist. He was a French sculptor who worked in the late 19th and very early 20th centuries. The example we are offering is in superb condition. The detail of the carving and the high quality of the bronze sculpture are exceptional even for this well known and listed French artist. From the bottom to the top of the helmet the bust measures 5-1/4 inches. Widest width from shoulder to shoulder 2-1/4 inches. Diameter at base 1-1/4 inches.
