Superb antique bronze sculpture depicting a muse blowing pipes summoning the Gods. The left side of her robe is slightly off her shoulder exposing her breast. She is beautiful and is in beautiful condition. This is the deluxe model, the largest one Marioton created of this subject. It has a large floral high relief sculptured wreath adorning the base. It is inscribed Eug. Marioton. Eugene Marioton sculptured some of the finest French bronzes made in the 19th century. This example is one of his finest works. He has auction records for bronzes of the same size running as high as $23,500.00 for a 32.1 inch bronze titled La danse sculpture that was sold May 2, 2001 at Christie's New York. The model we are offering is from my own collection it is the finest example of this model I have had the pleasure to see in my more than 45 years collecting, buying, selling, and appraising antique bronze sculptures.
