Beautiful antique bronze sculpture of Harmonie inscribed Carrier Belleuse on the side of the column the lady is sitting on. She is holding a lyre in one hand. This is a beautiful example of Carrier Belleuse's sculptures who was considered one of the most important and finest sculptors of the 19th century. The plaque at the front reads Harmonie Par Carrier-Belleuse, Medaille d'Honneur au Salon. This sculpture is one of the most famous and sought after works by Carrier Belleuse. It depicts a beautiful semi nude lady with a lyre. She is seated on a column while holding her harp. She measures 24-3/4 inches high and 16 inches widest width. Depth from her toe to the back of the base 11 inches. The base is 7-1/4 inches wide. Weight 47 lbs. She is in excellent condition showing only normal rubbing to the patina commensurate with age and handling. She is one of the best examples of this sculpture you might ever hope to find.
