This is a superb pair of 18th century English flame crotched mahogany serpentine front knife boxes with string inlay, banding, original hinges, original escutcheons, inlaid interior stars on lids, with original cutlery interiors. This choice pair of knife boxes has survived in a superb state of preservation with outstanding rich amber nut brown patina. Circa: 1760-1785
