Large oak, cut work box. Stag and hounds motif, skillfully crafted, with fine brass corners and detailed brass claw feet. The central scene on the lid, is a dog chasing a deer surrounded by oak leaves. The four sides of the box are also cut oak leaves. The interior and lid are lined in an old padded ivory silk which is quite worn in spots, but easily replaceable. One brass corner is missing a tiny end piece (shown in last photograph). Lightly cleaned and re- polished condition. 11 1/4" wide x 9" deep x 4" high.
