Unusual South Staffordshire enamel box, the circular base enameled with flower sprays and c-scroll flourishes, the top with a clear glass dome fitted with a tight sealing brass rim.

References: This is a most unusual item, the purpose of which is open to speculation. It was most probably a sweetmeat container, designed so you could see the contents, the tight seal keeping them fresh.
