FOR SERIOUS TORTOISE SHELL COLLECTORS. RARE blonde tortoise shell jewelry box. Might have been used as a tea caddy from that time period. The measurements are 12'w x 8"d x 5' h. This box has a few cracks but, NO CHIPS to the shell. On the right back side has a slight touch of discoloration but as you can see it is in excellent condition for being 230 years old. I have been doing research online trying to find a similar box in size and can not find any blonde tortoise similar to this. I am assuming based on the blonde veneer they are very hard to find.I have a small collection of 3 boxes listed that have been in my family for generations. I am looking to sell 2 of the 3 boxes.I would make a package deal on any two. They are a perfect addition to any serious collection and absolutely beautiful to look at.
