Japanese Edo period black lacquered writing, document box with cover, overall gold leaf foliate decoration with clover leaf crests, the interior and undercover surface a gold dust finish, original brass pulls. Edo Period, Note a museum quality restoration to under rim of cover is shown in one of the pictures provided. It is very dificult to notice from the outside. Dimensions: 4" H x 10 1/2" W x 8 1/2" D
