Edwardian period spice box, circa 1901-1910. Made in pine with brass fittings. Inside is a lift-out lid, under which are the spice compartments. On the edge of each compartment is the spice name: Allspice, Mace, Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Ginger, Cloves. The spices would have been kept loose in these areas. Currently, there are five old packets of the appropriate spice, all dating from circa 1950. Box measures 11 cm high, 25 cm long and 18 cm wide. In very good original condition. A few flecks of paint, which would scratch off.
