Rare Aesthetic Movement leather box with fine marquetry inlay. Unusual, stylized depiction of plants, geometric figures and a wading bird standing on one leg, executed in a variety of woods, form the decorative top panel of this fine jewel box. The exterior of the box is made of a mellow red-brown leather. The interior of the casket is a soft gold silk with a brocade detail framing the interior lid. The fitted tray with three compartments is removable. Original brass hinges and lock. Original oval metal key hole cover. Very good original condition inside and out. 9 1/2" wide x 7 1/2" deep x 4 1/2" high.
