I have an unusual vintage / antique infant's oval cradle. The bed portion is entirely handwoven basketry, possibly cane and bamboo, with fret work. The foundation base upon which the cradle's woven bed sits appears to be hand hewn wood with spindles on the sides and rockers at the bottom. I do not know if it is Chinese, Native American, SouthEast Asian, Early American or ????. I do not know when it was made. I've had it about 20 years. Don't remember where I purchased it. Probably at an estate sale somewhere in New York State. The dimensions for the basket/bed are: length 38.5â€, width 21â€, depth 7â€; wooden base height 19â€, each top arm’s length 32â€, arm width 1.25â€, overall width from outside arm to outside arm 23.75â€, each rocker length 21.5â€.
