This is an 1896 hand made wicker basket with a full feathered Plymouth Rock chicken all wicker used during harvest for carrying baked rolls, breads or fruits to friends or family. It has also been said to be used as decor around harvest (thanksgiving) it is also said it could have been used as an Easter basket called a Plymouth Rock Easter basket. As of now it is the only one known to exist and to be completely intact with full color and is extremely rare. The pilgrim museum and shelburne museum said it is a rare form of possibly frontier Americian wicker. It's exquisite and intricate design is sure to be envied by anyone. it is high quality museum condition.
