Circa 1770 Chinese Imari RARE Reticulated Chestnut Basket in Excellent Condition. Great Early 18TH Century Quality. We have had reticulated baskets in rose medallion, rose mandarin,blue canton, nanking and very few 18TH Century chinese export american market but this is the first one we have seen in Chinese Imari. This piece is of Excellent Quality and found in Pristine Condition. Handles are in tact which is unusual. Measures 8 1/2" from handle to handle and 6 1/2" from front to back and is 3" in height to top rim of basket. Wonderful cobalt blue decoration with imari orange fired on a white background. Light blue decoration on inside of basket just below the handles.   « Less

Pair of handpainted basketweave bowls or baskets with handles at either end. Made Germany, 19th century.Measure 9 1/4inches from end of handle to other handle and 3inches to highest point.Oval shape with outwards sloping sides. Rope entwined rims and handles at either end. Highlighted with gilding. Basket weave sides.Bottom of each basket is handpainted with beautiful flowers and butterflies in bright colours.Each piece is marked with blue underglaze swords and impressed 35A.Condition is generally very good. Some wear to gilt highlights and one basket has a tiny piece of basketweave missing. (see enlarged photo).Otherwise, excellent condition with the paint fresh and clear. Made by Hammersley.Measures 10 1/2inches long. 4inches to top of handle.Rectangular shape with rounded corners. Sides with compartments containing a sugar bowl and creamer respectively. Surface has basketweave mould and is richly decorated with strawberries, blossoms and leaves. All edges are richly gilded.Marked underneath each piece with Hammersley Bone China, and handwritten L1256.Condition is very good. No damage of any sort.
