Beautifully painted famille rose platter with bats, birds cash Buddhist symbols and more. Nicely detailed in all respects a truly well done later Qing / early Republic piece. Condition is excellent and there are no chips or repairs. This is a early (1895-1900) very beautiful Chinese Porcelain Platter. It measures 12'' by 9''. It has a wide gilded band that is decorated with hundreds of colorful, rich enameled cash coins, flowers and Buddhist symbols. These encircle the entire rim of the platter. In the center of the Platter, is a tiger crane bird and several bats.. Shades and enameling are done in Rose Medallion, Famille Rose and Rose Mandarin palettes. The underside has a pale orange peel Celadon ground with the very bottom unfinished and also containing old sand from the early firings. A rare piece of early Chinese Porcelain in a rare design.
