An early satsuma vase, late 1800's to early 1900's period. One side depicts 3 scholars, the other side 1 scholar. Under the scholars there is a foo dog or lion? A myriad of colors set against a cobalt body with gold washed handles and rim. There is a mark in red on the bottom. The moon shaped vase stands 11" and at its widest its 9". A good quality porcelain piece in very good condition no chips, cracks or repairs.
