Medallion Cadogan Wine Pot,19th century, height 5 1/2". Named after the Earl of Cadogan who introduced this unique Chinese porcelain form to the West. Wine is poured into the bottom of the pot and travels up a tube inside. No cork is inserted. Once inside, the wine is trapped in a chamber. The pourer flips the pot back right side up and pours the wine from the spout. Sometimes called the “puzzle pot. Please note- the artist created excellent faces. There is a white spot in the last picture. There are no chips or flakes on this piece. Excellent condition.
