Photos from a Seattle estate for study. A pair of blue and white Mei Ping vases decorated in an under glaze blue style often associated with the Wan Li Period. Nice to find a pair obviously from the same kiln and decorated by the same hand. While these are export pieces, exemplified by the buff biscuit, rough foot, slightly uneven shape and a more dull glaze, they are none the less, classic examples of their period and, in addition, a pair. In very good condition with only some minor glaze flaws and a firing flaw in one foot. Circa 1600. Height 9.6", approximately 5" in diameter at the shoulder. Acquired from Flores and Iva, New York 1989.
