Chinese Export milk jug, well painted with a large front panel depicting a mountain landscape, the foreground with a family resting in a garden, the right side with a house balcony and a gesturing child, the back with gilt scrolling reserves containing a flowering branch, a panel of pink leaves, and red cell ground.
Circa 1795
References: ref. Godden - Oriental Export Market Porcelain- p190, where he says..... in the late 1790's or early 1800's a class of rare, fine quality porcelain was made, .... and illustrates pieces with the same pattern and border features as this jug.
Condition: minor wear to gold on handle
