Hand painted Chinese ginger jar. Made for export, this early 20th century covered ginger jar is very nicely decorated with a scene of what I believe is men and women dancing. There are trees and insects, bushes and a bridge. There is a single man sitting on the cover. All the art is done in bright, child like pastel colors that some times stray from the lines. The back round color is an antique white. Altogether a charming example of Asian porcelain. Marked "China" on the base. Very good original condition. Fresh from a local Brooklyn estate. 6" tall x 6" diameter.
