Price on request:An extremely rare matching set of a drum table and five matching stools made of Jichi wood or "Chicken Wing Wood" with burlwood tops with a bamboo design. The table top is made from one piece of burlwood. Bamboo carved furniture from very expensive wood is very rare as bamboo is a very inexpensive wood and to carve that bamboo design in the expensive wood is a sign of reverse snobbery reserved for the very rich at that time. Bamboo, though, also represents longevity as it remains green during the winter. Age: Mid 19th century. Size: Table: D.Top 77cm. H. 80 cm. W. 90cm. Stools: D.Top 32.5cm. H. 46.5cm. W. 42cm. Condition: No repairs. Some old worm hole repairs in the burlwood tops of some stools. Please refer to our stock # FURN-004 when inquiring.
