Late 17th to 18th century Early Qing Dynasty Daqi Lacquered altar table. Daqi lacquering technique used mostly in the Song and Ming periods, lacquer was applied over a fabric underlay (daqi), which was soaked in a mixture of thickened lacquer and pasted onto the surface of the wood. This created a very thick over coating of lacquer that is very distinguishable and desirable. This table also has one solid wood top with many character viens with deep ware into the wood. Excellent patina. Size Overall Dimensions 39" H X 116" W X 20" D 99.1cm H X 294.6cm W X 50.8cm D.
