This item has been SOLD. Few of these pre war water puppets survive today. This character stood in the stern of a puppet size river boat and handled the tiller. He has a jolly face and early boatmans attire. He must have performed for quite a period since he shows wear and losses from use and exposure to moisture. He has had several repairs and areas repainted by his puppet company. He stands 16" tall and is 7" at the widest point. On a metal display base. Wood with both commercial and home made paint. 1950's period.
