Brilliant Kamakurabori box with peonies carved in relief lacquered in red vermillion. The inside of the box is lacquered in black. The bottom of the box has the characters Showa 45 meaning it was carved in 1970, Spring by a Mr. Tami. The red hanko seal on the bottom reads "Kakakurabori" which is the specialized carving technique of this piece. Excellent condition. (H:17cm; length: 37cm) Ask for shipping quote.
