This is a 17th century, coloured stone Buddha statue. It is curved out of a single piece of solid rock. The clothing on the body is maroon in colour and the boarder around the sleeve and neck is in black colour. The Buddha face, hand and feet are covered with traces of gold leaf gilding. The head is originally painted in blue colour but later painted with black paint. The head also has circle design on it all around. The base of the statue suggests that the Buddha statue is curved out of a single piece of what could be of granite stone. There are traces of tree roots on part of the body. This is a very heavy piece of Buddha statue. It weights about 10kg or 22lbs.

There is wear and tear, with some chips. Overall it is in good condition.
