Antique Japanese 'Do-Chu' hand forged bronze alloy carp vase. Do-Chu (metal craft) had its roots in Edo Period (17th and 18th century). Patronized by the Lord of Hiroshima Province, Lord Asano, he assembled the greatest metal craftsman of the age to produce this hammered metal-ware. They became prized as presents by the Daimyo (Lords) all over the country. This particular Meiji Period c.1900 piece is signed by 'Meiho'.
