Rare Meiji Period c.1900 black lacquered horse feeding buckets. A horse bento box, this pair of buckets has iron metal work on the rims and a crest in gold lacquer and the inscription 'no no mura' in red lacquer on the back meaning country village. There are slots in the handles where a pole was inserted to carry the buckets. Some lacquer and metal wear but in very good condition. Ask for shipping quote. (h:15' ; diam: 11")
