Made from 'susudake' smoked farmhouse old bamboo, this basket features a 'gozame-ami' mat plaiting with vertical bamboo strips inserted. The rim uses an 'atebuchi' technique in which wide strips of bamboo encircle the rim for an aesthetic boost. The four legs have insect stiches as well as the handle inserts. Legend. c.1900.
