Artistically woven antique Japanese half moon tea ceremony bamboo flower basket evoking the natural ambience essential to the Japanese tea ceremony. Made in the Meiji Period c.1867-1912, at the height of basketry in Japan, the bamboo is 'sustake' or sooted bamboo taken from an old farmhouse kitchen ceiling.
