An Early Bronze Chinese Sculpture. Beautiful patination highlights this figure of Chinese philosopher Arhat Senni. Senni was a Brahmin philosopher reborn as a Bhikksuni and became an Arhat through Sakyamuni Buddha's instruction. In Buddhism an Arhat is a spiritual practitioner who has realized certain high stages of attainment. It is a person who has conquered greed, hatred, and delusion - the causes of most human failings. Condition report: both arms show evidence of old repairs. Size: 7.5" H x 3.5" W (overall).
